After years of
teaching emotionally handicapped
high school students, Robert G.
Hoglund, M.A. began full-time
consulting and training in order to
have a greater impact on education
and system change.
Bob maintained a private-practice
counseling service for many years.
He continues to provide consulting
and training services for
counselors, educators,
psychologists, social workers,
treatment centers and businesses.
His three day seminar Results,
Relationships and Responsibility
(formerly known as Educating for
responsibility and Quality)
has
helped thousands
of educators
incorporate
theory and practical
techniques that help students take
more responsibility for
their
academic work and school behavior.
For
the past five years, Bob has worked
with The School District of Lee
County to blend the
philosophies and practices of
Glasser Quality Schools with those
of the Malcolm Baldrige (Sterling)
Quality. Choosing Excellence
(a three-day training) receives 93%
or higher ratings in all 5 of the
measured categories.
Additionally, beginning two years
ago, Bob has worked with The
Foundation for Lee County Schools
Golden Apple Award winners and
Teachers of Distinction each summer.
This five-day Choosing Excellence
Training had also received
outstanding reviews.
Bob
consulted with and trained the Fox
Chapel Area School District in
Pittsburgh and the Placer Union
High School District in Auburn,
California for 10+ years. Both
Districts have been identified by
School Match as Top 15% Districts in
the US. Additionally, all of the
Fox Chapel Schools (4 Elementary
Schools, a Middle School and High
School) have received National Blue
Ribbon Awards. The Placer Union
High School District increased the
number of students enrolling in
Advanced Placement classes and the
number of students passing the
California English Proficiency Test
on the first attempt.
Bob worked with the US Army Drug and
Alcohol Training Cadre at Fort Sam
Houston, helping them improve and
integrate Choice Theory® and Reality
Therapy into their training
programs. He also worked with
the Drug and Alcohol Abuse leaders
from bases all over the United
States. Additionally, Bob
provided
consulting and training
for CARE Unit
in Las Vegas, Nevada.
His workshop Helping People
Take Effective Control of Their
Lives was approved
for C.E.U.'s
by the State of Nevada Committee on
Domestic Violence and
has
received outstanding ratings.
Bob
is a Senior
Faculty Member and has earned
the highest distinction of providing
appropriate training to all levels
of learners, from beginners to those
seeking any level of Faculty Status
from the William Glasser Institute.
The ability to
relate to and teach people from all
walks of life, from
children to Ph.D.’s and
M.D.’s, is a skill he holds with
pride.
Bob is
the President and founder of Bob
Hoglund, Inc. (formerly the Center
for Quality Education). He has
authored two books;
The School for Quality Learning
and
Intervention Strategies, and has
written 10 articles on education and
quality management. Bob was the
first person chosen by Dr. Glasser
to conduct training and consulting
for the Quality School Consortium.
Bob is
a past
four-term West Region Representative
to the International Board of
Directors for the William Glasser
Institute. He earned his degrees at
Arizona State University.
